“Every image I make is a conversation — with a place, a person, or a moment that refused to pass unnoticed.”
Photography is how I make sense of the world — and my place within it. It’s been with me for decades, though not always front and center. There were years when it paused — when life pulled me in other directions — but it never fully let go. Eventually, I picked the camera back up, not to start over, but to continue the conversation where I had left it.
Over the years, my lens has been my anchor. I’ve gone from building a career in UX and software to building a visual language rooted in honesty, contrast, and human connection. My work spans from quiet street scenes to experimental floral studies — always searching for meaning, light, and that moment that says more than words ever could.
This site reflects the way I work: thoughtful, evolving, sometimes poetic, sometimes chaotic, and always personal. I don’t wait for a series to be “complete” before sharing it — because in my world, each finished image adds to the story. Projects grow, but every image you see here is finished and intentional.
Thanks for stopping by. Whether you’re here out of curiosity or looking for something to hang on your wall, I hope you find something that speaks to you.
Benjamin G. Hernandez is a photographer and visual storyteller whose work explores the interplay of light, movement, and memory across landscapes and cultures. His photography spans fine art, documentary, and conceptual work, grounded in curiosity, instinct, and a sensitivity to the world around him.
Raised in Mexico City, Benjamin’s relationship with photography has been shaped by decades of exploration, travel, and self-discovery. Though he picked up a camera early in life, it wasn’t until 2023 that he fully embraced his identity as an artist. Rejecting the notion of adhering to a single genre, Benjamin’s work is as fluid as the light he captures. His portfolio moves effortlessly between landscape, still life, documentary, and abstract photography, reflecting his belief that a photographer’s vision should be limitless. Whether capturing the quiet elegance of a still life, the fleeting energy of a street scene, or the vastness of remote landscapes, his approach remains the same—seeking the emotion beneath the surface.
Benjamin is drawn to quiet complexity — to shadow, gesture, stillness, and tension. Much of his work engages with memory, impermanence, and the trace of human presence (or absence) in a place.
He works fluidly across genres, guided more by intention and emotion than by labels. His approach to color and black-and-white photography reflects this:
"Photography, for me, is both a search and a reconciliation.
In black and white, I find memory — stripped of noise, shaped by emotion and distance.
In color, I embrace the present — chaotic, vibrant, and unresolved.
I don’t choose one over the other. I use both as tools to explore different truths.
Some moments call for clarity. Others demand to be felt before they’re understood."
His goal is not to explain an image — but to leave space for pause, ambiguity, and interpretation.
